Habit tracker

Name a habit and mark the days you kept it.

Add a habit. Tap today when you do it. The last week shows as a row of days.

Clearing Mindz data deletes the tracker. There is no cloud copy.

A row of days, and nothing in the cloud

The habit tracker lets you name a habit and mark the days you kept it. The last week shows as a row. That is all. There is no coach, no streak punishment beyond what you can already see, and no account. The marks live in this browser under the Mindz storage key. Clearing site data, or using the dashboard's delete control, removes them. There is no cloud copy to restore. That is the privacy trade. Do not track a habit you would be unwilling to leave on a shared computer. Do not put sensitive health details in the habit name. The field is a label, not a medical record.

A habit system fails when it becomes a second job. Mindz keeps the tool small so the failure is harder to reach. One to three habits is a serious use. Twelve habits is a mood board. Mark today when you did the thing, not when you thought about the thing. If you miss a day, the row will show a gap. The gap is information. It is not a moral event. Restarting without drama is the skill. The tool will not congratulate you or scold you. If you need a scold, you are asking a website to parent you, and this one declines.

    What is worth a checkbox

Good candidates are specific and observable. Walk after lunch. Write two hundred words. Put the phone in the other room during the first work block. Bad candidates are identities. Be mindful. Be disciplined. Be the kind of person an older mental age would admire. Identities cannot be checked, and the mental age metaphor is a poor boss. An older Mindz age is not the personality you should obey. A younger one is not a relapse. If the tracker starts serving a fantasy of a future self, delete a habit until the list describes this week.

The focus timer pairs well with a habit that is a time block. The reflection note pairs well with a habit that is easy to fake, because a sentence is harder to fake than a tap, though not impossible. The mood tracker is a different row, about the day rather than the behavior. Do not fuse them into a private theory of cause and effect after four days of data. Four days is an anecdote. The site will not draw you a scientific chart of self-improvement, because it should not. Any pattern you notice is a hypothesis for your life, not a finding Mindz discovered.

Mental age can suggest a habit, not assign one

Read your mental age profile before you add a habit, if you have one. High curiosity and a trail of abandoned hobbies sometimes need a smaller habit, not a more inspiring one. High planning sometimes needs a habit that starts even when the plan is imperfect. High spontaneity sometimes needs a habit with a floor so low it survives a chaotic day. These are suggestions in the ordinary sense of the word, not prescriptions. Ignore them if your life is already telling you what the next checkbox is. The test is a lens. The week is the object. If they disagree, believe the week.

Do not use the tracker to police another person, including a child. Mindz is not directed at children, and a habit grid is an easy thing to misuse in a household. Your data is yours. Their behavior is not a Mindz object. The same goes for workplaces. A local tracker is a personal convenience. The moment it is demanded by someone with power, it is a different product, and not this one.

Keep the list, or go back to the main page

Review the row once a week, not once an hour. Hourly review is surveillance. Weekly review is enough to see which habit is fiction. Delete the fiction. Add nothing in the same minute, so deletion does not immediately become a new fantasy. Then stop. The tool has done its job when the list is short and mostly true.

If you want a Mindz page with more to read, make it the mental age test or the article on concentration, which explains why a container beats a mood. Games are a poor substitute for a habit you are avoiding, and they are a fine break after you have marked an honest day. Quizzes will offer nicknames. You do not need a new nickname to keep a row of checkmarks. The dashboard shows favorites, history, and the control that deletes this tracker along with everything else local. Use that control when you give the device away.

    Stay with Mindz

Mental age is the main mirror. These games, tools, and quizzes look at one habit at a time, and they stay on this device.
